30 Oct: Post-Storm Tuesday Poo!

So, I had to poo today, which is rare for me. Because I low-carb during the week, I don't poo as much during the week. This one was a pretty standard poo load, with some floaters and some sinkers. (Most of my poo floats.)

But I pooed Sunday, yesterday and today! Today we are picking up after the storm. Hurricane Sandy blew through last night and we had wind gusts up to70 mph. I had some water sepage in the basement, but at least we still have power. And a lot of people don't.

And I had a rare Tusday poo! I Guess I've been eating more carbs than I normally do.

Pre Hurricane Sandy Monday poo!

So, I don't normally take a crap on Monday because it's the first day after  low-carb day.

But today was a special surprise--I got a poo! Not too impressive--regular poo pat--sank instead of floated. But it's a poo!

Today, hurricane Sandy is just beginning to come ashore--so it's a pre-hurricane poo! Can't wait to see tomorrow's poo! When the winds are blowing and the power is out! Luckily for all of my fans I'll keep my smartphone charged so I can take a pic of my poo even if the lights are out!

28 OCT, Regular Sunday Poo

Well, this was a pretty standard post-cheat day Sunday poo.

Unfortunately my poos have been rather soft this past year so they tend to break up into loglets. I'd prefer one big solid log--but we don't always get what we want.

27 Oct: Another Two Poo Saturday!

So this happens on Saturday after cheat night the night before: two poo day. I crap when I wake up in the morning and then crap again 3 hours later. Good! Two poo Saturday rocks! I've even pooed 3 times on a Saturday morning.

That means I don't have to worry about having to take a crap during my 5 mile run later today.

And this second poo was a full load.

25 Oct, mid-week poo load!

So, I hadn't crapped since Sunday. As I've discussed before, this happens when I'm low-carbing it--I don't crap every day.

So I got to work Wednesday, had a cup of coffee and 30 minutes later I had to crap. Felt like I crapped for 5 minutes. Ron White asked, "Ever taken a crap so big your pants fit better?" It was that kind of crap. Huge load. Very satisfying.

22 OCT--post cheat, post race poo

So I ran the Army 10 miler yesterday and I indulged in ANOTHER cheat day--that's Saturday and Sunday--two cheat days in a row--because my sister is in town. So I ate a lot of carbs yesterday. Normally I don't poo Monday morning because Sunday is a low carb day.

But today's poo was a regular post cheat-day poo.

21 OCT--pre race poo!

Ok. I ran in the Army 10 miler road race on Sunday. The race starts at the Pentagon in Northen Virginia  and goes into Washington DC and goes for 10 miles. Pretty good stuff. My time was 1:44--would have been faster but I had to take a bathroom break. I didn't want to, but I didn't have a chance to piss before the race. And because I'm a 48 year old man--and have to GO MORE OFTEN--I had to stop and piss during thr race.

I was worried about taking a crap before the race. I didn't want to start the race with a full load. Luckily enough, Saturday, the day before, was a full cheat day. We went to an Italian restaurant Saturday night to carb-load for the  race. So I had a ful load ready to go Sunday morning. And all it took to get it going was a couple of sips of coffee.

Below is my pre Army 10 miler poo. As you can see, I didn't have to run the race with a full load.

Sunday Poo

Ok--here it is--the post full cheat day poo. I ate like a horse yesterday and I drank 4 beers. I ate popcorn at the movie theater, had a big hot dog, ate Krispey Kreme donuts....you get the picture.

I pooed twice yesterday, but I think today will be a one poo day. That poo is below. Not very exciting. I'd prefer that my poos stay together. The big poo logs are so satisfying. But--it is what it  is.

I'll make sure I get pics of my less frequest mid-week poos this week.

Two Poo Saturday!

So, as I suspected, I had another poo brewing. Two poos in three hours. Not bad. That sometimes happens after I cheat with beer and pizza. It was a lot of poo--but it didn't really hold together--a lot of little poo loglets.

Saturday Poo

As I've said before, as part of my eating regimen I indulge in a "cheat" day--a day when eat or drink anything I want.

I actually start the cheat on Friday evening and continue it through Saturday. So I cheated last night--drank beer, ate pizza and donuts. This usually results in a significant poo Saturday morning. And it did this morning. This poo woke me up this morning.

A couple of serious logs. I'm hoping for at least one more poo today and another serious one tomorrow morning.

So, yesterday was a full cheat day. McDonald's, donuts, Rita's Water Ice, brisket sandwich, beer and pizza. And rum cake. A lot of calories.

And this resulted in a pretty standard after cheat day poo. Meh. I was hoping for more.

Oct 6--TWO POO day!

As I mentioned before, I am on a low carb diet. But this eating regimen allows for a "cheat day." That means on Saturday, my cheat day, I can eat or drink anything I want. And I do. I actually fast Friday until 7PM, and cheat Friday evening too.

As I mentioned before, during the week, when I am low-carbing it, I only poo every couple of days. Something about low carbs and not enough sodium means no more daily poos. But when I cheat, I poo. Oh BOY do I poo. I cheated last night; I drank beer, ate pizza and Krispey Kreme donuts. It was great. So, I pooed this morning. And then I pooed again.

The picture below is my second poo. I didn't get a pic of the first poo--sorry about that. It won't happen again. This makes two healthy poos in 3 hours.

I love cheat day.

Now that I'm back to posting to my blog, I thought I'd post some random, recent poo pics. This one is from September 14th. I took this at work, where I take most of my poos. I took it with my work BlackBerry, and because it's from work, the lighting isn't very good--sort of harsh, overhead fluorescent lighting. So it's a little hard to see.

I'm back!--Oct 5th 2012 poo

Well, I'm back. It's been a while. I have to apologize to all of my fans. There are people who want to see my poo--and who am I to depreive them?

A little about myself. I am a middle-aged white man, who lives in Northern Virginia, USA. About a year ago, I decided to lose weight. I'm 6'1" and I weighed 260 pounds. I read Tim Ferriss' book, the Four Hour Body, and in it, he describes what he calls the "Slow Carb Diet." It is, in effect, a low carb diet. It's very restrictive--in that--you can't eat: sugar, HFCS, any grains, pasta, fruit, dairy, potatos, rice, etc. You get the picture. It is not as restrictive as Atkins, however, because you can eat legumes. What that means for me is that I eat a lot of meat and beans. That's ok--because I like meat and beans. And I caneat as much of the non-carb food as I want.

So--a year later, and as of yesterday I'm down 62 pounds. Yep--I've lost 62 pounds. For my non-US readers--sorry--I don't know what that is in kilos.

But the low carb thing has effected my poo. I used to poo daily, sometimes twice a day. I now poo MUCH less frequently. I don't feel constipated exactly--I don't think I've ever been constipated. (Except maybe during the first week of Officer Candidate School--which was VERY stressful.) I can go 3 days without taking a poo.

I read some posts online that say some people react that way to a low carb diet. They say a glass of salt-water will make you poo. And it works. But drinking a glass of swalt water is not pleasant, so I only do that on Friday before I weigh in. 

So, the picture below is yesterday's, pre-weigh in, pre-workout poo. Pretty good. Solid. And I didn't need to drink salt water to get it going.
